Not a lot of pictures....since I went with the Significant Other...we set up the 9x12 tarp after settling on a decent site with trees just the right distance apart....and she wanted to put up the tent, so I did so....a couple hours later; the tent floor is wet and so is just about everything on the first two inches (She used an air mattress, I used couple pads and four sleeping bags folded together)
Finally convinced her that the hammocks are a better option due to the weather; we set them up side by side off two trees, using my old MSB(Mini Spreader Bar) pockets and new tent pole pockets for the spreader bars to spread the hammocks apart; the unintentionally funny consequence of this is that if I got in, since I've about 160 pounds over her, her hammock goes up a foot or so before she gets in...once she got in, she was about 8 inches above me, and with the pads dried off, using a red North Face down mummy bag, with a yellow thermal comfort liner and her blue rectangle bag (her insistence); she ended up a little too warm for her own comfort, so she vented a little bit....but still comfortable I used my army Intermediate Cold sleeping bag and a thinner pad...turns out the thin pad is absolutely no good for insulation (its like 1/4")....especially with a 10 mph prevailing wind coming from the West...and site location being what it is; we ended up pointed West to East.....now I know the value of BEAKS! (next two-hammock tarp is probably going to be double wide version of the Ogee tarp, with 12 ft ridge line...)
Didn't do any buschrafting other than tomato soup over charcoals......... due to being involved with the SO......
