seems to me that the #4 snake skins are going to be way to big for the mac cat tarp. and for the single ENO hammock too... even w/ the bug net.
but if you were going to be using an under quilt & leaving it on the hammock when you slide the skins, the #4 may be about right. ...tim

I am trying to not think about winter yet until I get hooked and comfortable setting up. THEN I won't mind the extra weight! There are so many options as far as keeping warm. SO I KNOW I am going to a down bag...I wanna test out a ccf and down sleeping bag then see if I wanna try a UQ. Thanks for the advice though I will remember it for future reference! And most thanks for the mesh tarp skin contribution! The minute I read that I was like YES my tarp can dry out more easily! You hangrs are tho thmart!

Am I correct in understanding that a HH a-sym ultralight and a JRB Nest will fit into #4 skins?

    Thanks,
I've read pros and cons to using skins. It seems like it would be a quick way to pack the hammock and underquilt and stuff it in the pack. I like the idea of leaving the tarp on the outside of my pack.

With HH Exployer ultralight per the JRB dimensions they fit, but it is a tight fit. Adding a couple inches or width made them really easy to get on and off.

Does anyone make them or is it a do-it-yourself item? That would be like the #6 mentioned above?

Hennessy sells skins, but I don't think they make any that big. I might be wrong on that though. Either way, nobody else sells them because Hennessy has patents out the ying-yang. JRB was selling Python skins for a while (pretty much what you're looking for), but they ran into issues with Hennessy and had to stop.
