IL>hangin in Illinois before the hot muggy weather sets in

Does anyone have any thoughts, ideas or suggestions on hanging in Illinois? Id love to get out a few more times before the hot weather really sets in.

There are alot of great spots in Southern IL. Check out Garden of the gods state park and the surrounding areas.

im way north of you near chicago, trying to ret other folks to come out too, i was out last weekend, was great.

Been really wanting to see the camping sites on the I&M. Just hasn't happened yet.

Another area is Sand Ridge http://www.dnr.state.il.us/lands/lan...ks/r4/sand.htm. Not much to see, but a good place to hang out and have a cold one. You have to hike in so nobody goes there.

I've been wanting to check out sand ridge because i do enjoy BC camping sites, but it sounds like theres not much to see there huh?
