    Forest pixie newbie hanger

Hi! I'm Dawn, from Seattle, WA. I'm a long-time backpacker who has been getting closer and closer to ultra-light every year (at 5'3" and 100 pounds, every ounce matters.) Last summer I bought a Kammock Roo on a pro deal for car camping, and that purchase lead me to discover hammock camping. I still have the Roo for casual purposes (car camping and in town), but now also have a Hennessy Hyperlite set-up for backpacking.

I've been appreciating and enjoying the Hammock Forums. People so far have been super helpful and friendly. Thanks to suggestions here, I've ordered a top and bottom quilt set that I think will be just right for me, and I think I'm about to also order a cuben tarp (after hemming and hawing a bit more over the price.) Great forums, good people. Thanks!

    Dawn

Welcome from Ky! Sounds like you're already off to a great start! Upgrading to a cuben tarp was one of the best decisions I made for my pack. You'll only cry for a little bit not regret it when you finally lay down the funds for it

Welcome, from way down here on the other side.

Good luck with all that wonderful new gear. The downy goodness will give you plenty of warmth in the cool humid air there.
And the Cuben Tarp is exactly what you need to lower the grams/ounces/pounds.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
