    Travel Net compressed size.

I just got one in the mail. It's half the weight of my ENO Guardian bug net, but twice (or three times!) the size. Is it safe to compress this thing down smaller? Is the bag it comes in just a storage bag, so it doesn't form any creases or folds when it's being kept in a closet for a few months?

Any opinions on this? Going on a pretty long hike this weekend and could use the extra space (I'll be in a virtual desert, and need to pack in all of my water).

One opinion would be to leave it like it is. It will be compressed by the surrounding items in a pack and may actually end up taking less space that way. Once you compress it into a small ball or tube, it loses the ability to fill the nooks and crannies between the items in your pack. This works great for the larger compressible items like quilts. They seem to take up less space if just stuffed into the bottom of the pack and allowing the other items to compress them--that way, all of the available space is utilized.
Might make more sense if you visualize filling your pack with various sized balls, there is a lot of wasted space between the items. - - Not sure if this is what you are asking.
