NEW JCP Down Jackets ( I have 4)

    Only 1 left (Orange).
    $28 EACH - I have four of these (2 Orange, 2 Green).
They are great for a DIY summer quilt/underquilt... hammock forums has quite a few tutorials on how to make them but I never got around to it. There are pics of the jackets and pics of what the jackets can be!

    JCP Down Jacket
-Men's Size 3XLT, Orange (same as pic)
    -650 Fill Power
    -90% Goose Down/ 10% Feather
    -Weighs right around 11oz
-Brand New with tags and stuff sack

I'm guessing you use 2 of them to make the quilts?

I don't want to get off topic, but can anybody tell me why things like this are so much cheaper than other brands like OR? I mean, down is down right? I paid $50 at half price for a vest that seems to be the same as any other brand.

Lower fill power means extra weight. Not the latest in fabrics, super mass produced, built by a clothing manufacturer, not OUTDOOR clothing manufacturer so it won't perform like a marmot or the like, not in the same league as cottage manufacturers

I built two top quilts with these types of jackets. They have less loft than my Marmot jacket I wear when camping. We found them to be a little too warm at 60 F and work fine in the mid 40s F.

At 60F we used an Insultex under quilt and in the 40s we used our 30 (or lower) Hammock Gear DIY down under quilt.

With the two types of underquilts, the puffer quilts, and other quilts made from Wally World down bags with extra down, we can mix and match for a range of almost 25F to 60F.

These were well worth the investment.
