I do not find much of a difference. They are both great. I don't under stand why people would have condensation issues any different than on the ground in a tent. Sometimes my pad is damp in a tent, sometimes in a hammock. But it's never caused me any concern in either place.

whether condensation or perspiration, my experience is this: pads in a bridge trap moisture. I've used pads many nights in both my BMBH deluxe and my WBRR. Same results - even indoors. Definitely prefer an UQ for my Ridgerunner. Definitely prefer the pad for the BMBH - using the wide pad prevents shoulder squeeze and makes the BMBH sleep more like a suspended cot.

The only time I had condensation using a pad was when it was cold but humid (temps were going up and snow was melting quickly). Moisture was trapped between the hammock and pad but I slept dry and comfy.

Are you guys using top quilts or bags with the pads when you get condensation?
