    VA>Return to Grayson Highlands

Hiking in the snow in May, using the ArcZimmer, cozy in an Insulhammock, seeing a Speer Snugfit out, lots of ponies; a fantastic sunset, retro and modern packs; a McCat Ultra out again, a Darien UL under Poof. All agreed one of the most scenic hikes in the South, great that FirePitGuy joined us, #2's new trailname is Padawan, good food of course:

Thanks MM, for a great video. I'm hoping to get back up there soon. I loved the ponies dancing near the end! While it was snowing on you, it was snowing on me at the Grand Canyon during my Canyons tour. I did get to hike a little of the Bright Angel trail.

Thanks for the shout-outs - I need to get back up there again.
I want to check out the Scales trail, not to mention Thomas Knob & a few other places.

80's in Charlotte, snow at Grayson. Everybody has been reminded (including me).
Still amazed you found trees by the Crest trail water source. BonePile & I must have been lookin in the wrong place that prior trip.
And the new backpack looks great. Well designed & carefully thought out.

Thanks MM. Loved the ponies and the vistas. Drooooooooooooling! Thinking about doing this ahead of the Roan hang in July. I need to see the highlands at least once when there are no clouds, no rain, no wind, no sleet, etc.,etc. Look for the Grayson County Fall Festival hang at the park in September. Slowhike and I will probably post the notice in June.

Great video, MM! That is one of my favorite parts of the AT to hike....I have lost track of how many times I've done it now and it still amazes me every time! And snow in May does not surprise me at all. Last May before Trail Days it was in the low 30's one night and in the 60's two nights later up there.
