Yeah, so, it's taken all of a day, and on my trip back down to Walmart to get some butter, i happened to pick up some more hammock fabric, some noseeum (or something close enough to it that I can't tell the difference between it and what's on my tents), and in what may be the best break i could ever get there, some coated nylon that matches the hammock body material. They're both a digital camo patten. I also got one of the cheapo fleece sleeping bags to snag the zipper and get myself a blanket too. And i picked up an 1,100 yard spool of polyester outdoor thread. All that and the butter for under 40 bucks. I can't wait to get into turning this all into something that's more like some of the amazing creations i've seen here.

oooohhh! Digital Camo, I talked with the manager at my local Walmart, and he said he would put in an order for it soon. I love digital camo, just hope I can find it in the woods.

Ok, after a read through the manual, and several minutes of big oafy fingers turning itty bitty screws, I've got a resolution to the feed dog question. The reason my metal feed dogs are smooth is that they weren't originally metal feed dogs. They were rubber, and the rubber wore away/melted away/decomposed. So, tomorrow I'll go and get new feed dogs, and then maybe i'll be able to actually sew a few things together.
