In addition to the recreational opportunities provided with kayaks on upper Skit Branch and possibly Mills Pond, I'd like to explore the old Batona Trail past Batona Camp going west and see where it goes. Ratdog, that trail we were following probably goes all the way to Mills Pond, maybe to Carranza Road bridge.

I'm not certain and Kayak Karl would know for sure, but I'm thinking the re-route of the BT from camp takes the trail out of camp to the left, along the road, up to the bridge, over the bridge and left back into the woods to follow Skit and links back up with the old trail across from camp.
Either that or it was a major re-route somewhere completely different.
As for Team Recon, participation is of course voluntary. If there's not enough interest, no worries. We can just haul the watercraft up the road to the one pond or down the road to the other. I would like to think I can take enough time off Friday to play in the swamp. Saturday I'll have the kids.
As for lunch, don't see any reason why we won't have plenty of food then as well.

I'll be playing it close to camp for the weekend, still not 100% achilles tendon wise...but I have a lot of gear to tinker with and test out, and lots of hanging and daydreaming to do...and eating apparently...
