WBRR with sleeping bag

Does anyone use a sleeping bag with their WBRR? I don't have the money for a top quilt and was wondering if anyone had any luck with a sleeping bag.

Mummy or rectangular?
Does it work well with a sleeping pad?

Any sleeping bag would work just fine. Could use it as a quilt or zip on in.
Nice wide pad sleeve to boot.

Anyone know the maximum width for a pad (e.g., the Gossamer Gear one) that fits easily inside the pocket in the double layer Ridgerunner? I want the pad to curl up around me on both sides, protecting from wind etc. Thanks.

I use a 25" wide Neo AirXLite and sometimes a 25" Thermarest. Both slide in very easy. There is a slight curve to the sides of the RR but 25" works very well. I find my shoulders rarely become cold in the RR especially when using air mattresses because there is no hammock material wrapping around my shoulders. I love it!

I used the 26" wide Exped downmat in mine and was not too tight, and that pad is 3.5 inches thick. I agree with your earlier comment that the air pads make you sit up too high and to me, makes it feel tippy.

Bag works great. I think of my RR like a floating bed.
