Great tutorial, I thought I'd say that I didnt have a splicing needle but found a piece of scotch tape and the ink cartridge from a pen to be an excellent replacement (especially if you have a failure in the field)

pretty much any bent piece of thin-but-not-too-thin single strand wire works great for the splicing part.

    Figuring out Whoopie lengths...

This worksheet makes it easy to figure and mark your line when making Whoopies... I had been putting it together, and then I found one by NomadicPsyche, so I incorporated what I had and what he had... and here you go. If you find any problems, or if you want other hardware or lines added, please let me know. Eventually I'll add UCR's, dogbones and other splices.

A hanging, though, was something different. I got to thinking. We hadn’t never been to nothing just to have a good time. A hanging was special and we was all getting to go.

What program did you write this with. Can't open with Open Office or Microsoft works excel.

Dude just go on Amazon and a set off whoopis. I was very happy with the Ines I got. They were reading to got. I don't have to worry if I'd made it right or get the set to thread it. It ended up costing me barely anything more the Amsteel I'd priced out to make my own.

Download and install MS Office compatibility pack might help.

I had a comical hang this weekend. I made a set of whoopie slings for a hang this weekend and didn't make the bury long enough for my weight. I went to sleep in a hammock and woke up in a tent! At some point during the night the whoopie slowly lowered me to the ground. Lesson learned
