Ok, so ever since I built my hammock stand, I've had this thought in my head about a free standing hammock chair/recliner. It would be 2 hammocks with a spreader bar, about 2 1/2 to 3 foot wide. One small one for the seat (about 1 to 1/2 feet long), another for the back (3 to 3 1/2 feet long?). The seat would hang between 2 posts about a seat height, and the back would hang from 2 posts about mid back height to support your back. This may convert from my head to this post very well, so I'll try to draw up some ideas after work tonight.
I'm also thinking that if you just made one long hammock, with a spreader for the seat and one for the back, with loose material between the two, if you could make the back to where with a hinge or something, it could lay back a little, and scoot the seat out, it would then turn into a recliner, with the excess material then coming up from stretching the seat away from the back. You could then go a little further and lay it all the way down to make a mini bed You'd be laying in the hammocks the opposite direction though, sitting in them sideways instead of long ways though.
