I just picked up a Kelty Noahs 12 and it is humongous! It is a little on the heavy side....just under 2 lbs when you ditch the carry bag and factory guy lines, but man what a tarp for the money. I set mine up in the yard today for the first time and I could not believe just how huge the thing really was. Got mine for $53.00 and free shipping. It's not silnylon, it's not ultra light, but it has tie outs everywhere and It will definitely give awesome coverage. I can't wait to get mine out in the woods and give it a proper feild test.

DD 4x4(13' x 13') tarp $80 shipped. It's huge. I'd say, for the money you wouldn't find more coverage if thats what you are looking for.

Yeah the dd 4x4 is a great tarp, I have one and the only downside is the weight.

'What would you guys get if you had $70-80 to spend on a rainfly or tarp?' Answer; a loan to get a real tarp! Kak, kak kak! That's a joke. You made a good choice. I just couldn't resist a humor attempt!
I like refried beans. That's why I wanna try fried beans, because maybe they're just as good and we're just wasting time. You don't have to fry them again after all.

I love my kelty Noah 12 it's amazing. It has endless setups plus can be used as separate shelter if ever stuck above the tree line.

Possum, I second your assessment of the Kelty Noah's 12. It is an awesome tarp.

I own the Pro Fly, a little on the heavy side but great coverage.

    you could:
    - buy a poncho tarp, but check if that would give you enough coverage
    - buy a 3x3 tarp fairly easily, in polyester PU coated, in any army surplus store. maybe in sports department stores
    - ambush the "for sale" section for tarps in that price range
    - check out the DIY approach

My eno tarp is not backpacking light but it definitely keeps things dry even if it is a little on small side compared to the superfly.
if it is straight down rain it works well.
