Yep, gonna be a lot of people buying new hammocks soon. Honestly for me I sleep better in my hammock because of the slight incline but for the other 99.9% out there this looks perfect. Of coarse I guess I could always put it in recliner mode. A bit heavy for some i suppose but I'm sure a more basic stripped down version will be soon to follow.
Let me go ahead and add another entry to the acronyms/abbreviations thread:

Very cool. Thanks for sharing.

It's... it's a friggin' PosturePedic Hammock. Holy crap.
That's really kind of amazing and ingenius.
Looks very familiar. They did a nice job engineering it. I like the hammock sliding on the ridgeline. The weight is considerably higher than my similar prototype of a few years back, especially as it needs a full length pad for structure and insulation, but at first look, I'd say this is a very impressive hammock. Somebody buy one and tell us what you think! Price is $379 (and quite possibly worth it).

Heavier than I'd like, but still kinda neat.
Thanks, elricfate. I changed the price in my post.
The beauty of that transverse design is that a "diagonal calf-ridge" can be transformed into a cross-wise "neck pillow", "lumbar pillow" or "knee pillow" (or all three) by adjusting the tension at the sides. Two years ago I broke rib a couple of weeks before MAHHA and had to sleep sitting up in a recliner at home. I took my right-angle hammock to MAHHA and adjusted the suspension so I could sleep sitting up in the woods.
I assume one would be able to hang with closer trees, right? Perhaps needing a smaller tarp as well? I wonder if it works with an UQ - says on the site they thought a pad was the best method. I love the Exped downmats, but they're heavy and bulky and a bit of a pain inflating and deflating. I could see carrying the extra weight of this design if I were saving weight in other areas. (or at least not required to put on add'l weight in other areas).
"I wonder if anyone else has an ear so tuned and sharpened as I have, to detect the music, not of the spheres, but of earth, subtleties of major and minor chord that the wind strikes upon the tree branches. Have you ever heard the earth breathe... ?"
- Kate Chopin
Well, I will say this. That is one of the best product videos I have ever seen. The features of the hammock were shown and explained clearly without any wasted dialogue or camera shots. The webbing that backed up the carabiners on the tree straps shows they put a lot of thought into all aspects of the product. The only thing lacking was a better look at the coverage of the tarp. As far as weight goes, my current setup outweighs it by 10 ounces
It looked like it may be a little short for my 6' 5" frame but if I could truly lay on my stomach...this is going on my 'want list'.
Edit: just went back and watched the video again. The tarp coverage is shown pretty well. And their website has some good info as well. Also good for users up to 2 meters long.

Over engineered and over priced. Nothing new there.
YMMV
