    Seams

Did any of you seam seal or otherwise apply chemical treatments to prolong the life of your BB's?

Seam sealing is a waterproofing method mainly used for tarps and such. There's really no need to do so on a hammock IMHO.

I concur. It is for waterproofing only, and isn't likely to prolong the life of the seams.

    It would add weight, though.

I've been applying polyurethane seam sealant to various seams on my footwear for a few years because (as time has shown) it certainly does improve their durability/longevity. I don't see much reason to do that to the seams on a hammock though.

But, if it lasts longer I won't have as good of an excuse to replace it with whatever is new and still around the corner.
