Thumbs up Listen to you dad when it comes to weather

I was camping this last weekend with my wbb and I decided that it looked like a nice night so I didn't use a tarp and boy was that a mistake

My dad said jokingly that it was going to rain early in the morning on Saturday and I didn't listen to him. So I was without a tarp and around 5:00 am it sounded like a big wind or rain coming and then it I heard "drip, drip, drip" and then it started to down pour and I got soaked along with my sleeping bag and some of my gear that was left out . So I decided to bail out and I went under the tarp we had set up for camp and then I heard my uncle who was camping in a hammock as well "hahahahha" he was nice and dry because he had a tarp over his hammock . So I just stayed up and waited for the sun so I could dry some of my stuff before I headed out.

    "Lesson learned"😜😜

Many people put their tarps in snake skins. In good weather they just pitch the tarp in the snake skins so it is ready to be deployed if needed. I always pitch my tarp regardless of season. In the summer seasons, it is a much for shade as rain and wind protection. For me personally, I prefer to sleep in complete darkness, so in the woods I like a dark tarp so I don't end up waking up at sunrise.

    Cheers

Definitely snake skins or python. (Which is one full length oppose to to that slide towards the middle). Having it hang in the skins above your head close is nice incase of this exact situation.

I love being able to look up at the stars from the hammock.
I do the 1/2 pitch method quite a bit. Marking the two unused stakes with rocks or sticks for quick deployment if needed.

Do you want to be murdered by a serial killer loose in the woods? Cause this is how you get murdered by a serial killer loose in the woods!
