VIDEO: Quebec's version of the AT, Le Sentier National

My friend and I decided to do an overnight on a soon to be Quebec long trail. Not all sections are complete yet but so far we are well pleased. Beautiful trail and great overnight in our hammocks.

Sorry for the bilingualism haha. I'll try to update with closed captions on YouTube when I figure out how.

    Thanks for watching!

I've updated the video with English subtitles for the French dialogue. Just press CC and it should work!

Looks like you and your buddy had a great time. You did a good job on the video and the area is beautiful. The close captioning is a nice touch, and it must have taken you a while to complete the translation.

This is the first time I have heard about this trail, and I live in Quebec. This could be because my location. I live in the Outaouais, and very little of the trail is actually completed in my area. From your video, it looks like the completed parts are nicely maintained, and those shelters look great.

I think if the province of Quebec wishes to attract more tourists to this trail, it will need to do a better job promoting it, and provide English translation on the web pages. Better maps on the completed sections would not hurt either. Here is a link to a map showing the entire project. This is going to be very long trail once it is completed! I am looking forward to section hiking it in the years to come.

    Thanks for sharing. Cheers

Thanks for your post and video.

May I suggest you change your angle when using your Sawyer squeeze filter? It is not safe to have your "dirty" pouch directly above your "clean" container. Drops can fall into your container or water might sip through the connection and fall along the filter. You should always squeeze horizontally with only the tip of your filter above your container, obviously not touching it. Just my 2¢, otherwise nice setup !

Thanks for the tip! I'll pass it along to my friend as I was filming :P And thanks for the link to the map AlpineDad, I too can't wait for it to be finished one day. I agree that they should have a better website. Right now, all the maps and sections are divided by different organizations.

It seems you do have a completed section in Parc de la Gatineau, which seems like a nice ride

    Thanks for watching guys!

Great video, don't often get to watch Quebec Videos. Glad to see other people carry real wood cutting tools.

I have a few more "Quebec" Videos on my Youtube page, but not too many involve hammocks. As for the woodcutting tools, yeah that axe is a beauty. We didn't really need it, but my friend just bought it and wanted to try it out. As for me, I was packing way too much steel for an overnighter too. I brought both my Fiskars X7 hatchet and my Tramontina machete, as I wanted to test them both side by side.

I'm not decided yet, but for summer outings I am starting to really like the machete

    Thanks for your comments!
