6 x 4 sounds about right. It did fit OK despite not using any darts at all, but this was intended as a top quilt with the ability to be used as an UQ too. Once a quilt gets really thick I don't think it matters half as much as on a thinner one

Ive read your threads here, very impressed with the quick, cheap, great looking quilts you've put together. I tend to overanalyze due to the cost of materials, but also because I love the process. Thanks for the input, will keep you updated on my progress.
Thanks :-D the costs can mount up very quickly in the EU so it's probably better to not just wing it like I do. Over analysis is fine so long as it doesn't lead to paralysis, knowing your gear intimately due to it being self made has proved invaluable to making my backpacking more comfortable.
Let me know if any of your trips bring you to Sweden, I can help you with the logistics near Stockholm.

I may just take you up on that, thanks.
The new sketch looks awesome by the way
Thanks for the positive feedback, pics of the build incoming this week!
Got my materials today, first inner shell cut and drawn up. Took about two hours, but I was watching Game of Thrones at the same time, not so effective Wish I didn't have to work this week, wonder how many of us have said that in the middle of a project.

First of two finished yesterday. It's a bit bigger than I thought it would be! Love the color. Added some cords to be able to use it as a top quilt when I go on solo hikes, and now I understand how it is made so that I can make a video of the whole process when I make the second one. Here are some pics of how it came out, and I will post a YouTube video showing her off when it gets finished uploading.
