I'll throw in a couple little points in hopes to help with the questions.
On the Pad. The best way to keep a foot pad in place is to put it inside you're sleeping bag or top quilt. That way when you move a little the pad says with your legs. Roll over completely and you might need to kick it/push it back in place. Condensation on a foot pad is either so little or next to nonexistent that I have never once noticed it. On a full body pad it becomes more apparent as more of you are in contact with the pad, but a foot pad covers so little area that it would be hard to feel a noticeable amount. I spent close to 5 years ham mocking and testing various pads for a foot pad before offering them in the store. The ones I select is the one that preformed the best, was the lightest weight and greatest warmth retention. If your worried that the thickness won't be enough for you....and everyone is different...then bump up to the thicker size (there is a reason we offer 2 sizes) I have taken the thiner size to 20 by adding my down socks on my feet. But everyone is different, some people naturally have low or slow circulation in their feet/lower legs and should insulate them with a thicker pad. You will need to judge. On the last few trips I have been on I have ended up pushing the pad off to the side in my TQ as I was to warm with it and did not end up using it at all...easy temperature regulation.
