I got my dream hammock last week. Looks incredible! I put a lot of thought into the fabric choices and settled on a dbl layer with thicker charcoal gray with grayish olive as my outer layer. I did this to get the look I wanted with the stretch mark resistance of thicker fabric. I never intended for the outer fabric to touch the ground. Well, I got my diy hammock stand out and set it in a part of the yard in the shade I'd never used before. Long story short I was relaxing in my new hammock and shifted down just a little and my hammock stand went end over end! It was like slow motion. I knew it was happening, but couldn't stop it. There's an ever so slight grade where I had the stand set up. I thought it was flat enough I stretched out my arms to take the weight off the hammock. New hammock, first hang with it, ended up on the ground. No way the fault of the hammock, 100% me and the stand. I was scared I just put a hole in my hammock. Fabric held up great, not a mark on it that I've found. The quality of this hammock is outstanding! I almost feel better I tipped over, I'm not as scared to get out and use the hammock (for fear of damaging it) now that it's seen harder use than I ever intended for it to see.
