I have been working on some summer hammocks for myself and my daughter. I now need to think about making stuff sacks for them. I have found some great videos and recipes on the web. My question is does anyone have a formula for the amount of fabric needed to make different size stuff sacks.
Try using a gallon ziplock to stuff the hammock (and any suspension, if you want) roll out the air and keep it in a sausage shape with some tape. Now measure the length of the gallon bag, then the diameter. Multiply the diameter by pi and add an inch for hems plus one end will get a draw cord, so make it another extra couple inches long.
I add a reinforced button hole to the closed end of the sausage and it becomes a black bishop bag.
