Hammock Gear custom cuben fiber roll-top stuff sack for quilts

I got a custom cuben fiber roll-top stuff sack from Hammock Gear today. I asked Adam for a cuben fiber stuff sack that would allow me to put a 0* Burrow and 0* Incubator in it. My thought was that a single stuff sack is better than one each for the TQ & UQ. Also, I could use the same stuff sack for my 20* quilts and 40* quilts (not yet purchased).

It fits perfectly in my GoLite Jam 50L pack. It appears to be .51 cuben fiber. Thanks, Adam!

On a completely unrelated note, how do you like the Jam pack?

Love the Jam 50L; it has no frame but I put a ccf pad in the pocket and it's plenty rigid for me. I've done up to 16 miles in a day with the Jam 50L and felt no shoulder strain. Then again, I use a Ribz Front Pack to balance the load (kinda like a poor man's Aarn Balance pack), so I don't really know how it carries without the Ribz.

Leave it to you to be able to stretch a video about a stuff sack to over 5 minutes.

Does look good though. Bring it to the Father's Day hang?

Brevity requires effort, and I didn't feel much like effort. I will bring it to the Father's Day hang.

Cool setup! I also like putting both quilts in a single bag. I put the bag in the bottom of my pack and then stuff the quilts into that. It allows me to ensure a nice, even fit and fill into the bottom of my pack.

Been doin that for a few years now, I have one sized for each of my packs. The one for my Circuit is a bit taller to accommodate a winter quilt set plus puffer jacket, down hood, etc.

The main body of my pack finishes out with two additional dry bags that are tall and slender arranged side by side at the top of the pack for clothes and food. It's a 3 part system.

Nice video, Craig. Didn't seem too long to me at all (many videos are). Be careful not to stuff too aggressively. Tough as cuben is, a stuff sack will split under sufficient sudden air pressure.

SilentOrpheus is just busting my chops. There is sufficient ventilation at the top before it's rolled up to avoid too much air pressure, I think.
