    Isojärvi National Park Finland

Ok, hello hammockers, this will be my first trip report here. Sorry about my english, hope everything is understood

Me and my friend had plans for hiking in this national park earlier, but got accident in my work and from my right arm bicep muscles were partly ripped off. Luckily, they will heal in time and could make this trip.
We had 2 option, driving to Lortikka or Huhtala parking place. First one is quite far from our destination, Kalalahti shelter, maybe 5-6 hour hiking. But we decided to go with last option, this proved to be good option, because later we got in to the heavy rain and thunderstorm. Just made it to shelter and it started pouring water.
So we just listen to thunder and made some good food. After 2-3 hours the rain stopped and i got my 4mx4m DDtarp + TTTM double setup next to shelter. Got 4x4 just day before, boy this tarp is huge! We were planning to put my friends tent under the tarp too, but ground had too much rocks etc, so he decided to sleep in the shelter.
Rest of the evening was nice chat with one other visitor, who turn out to be professional nature photographer. Later some food and we got some whisky with us too. Weather forecast promised good weather to the night, so we went to sleep for couple of hours and got up 2 am, hour before sunrise. Lake had nice mist all over and colors were amazing. It was warm too, around 18'c. We took photos nearby next 2 hours and went to sleep again.
This time i needed to rearrange my sleeping pad and bag, because got small spot out from right shoulder and mosquitos got nice feast through the hammock. Well bon appetit, hope you had a good meal
Woke up near 9 am after good sleep. Packed up all gear, got some breakfast with nice tea and off we go. Before we left the place, we visited this old Huhtala household, which is from early 17th century.

    Planning next hiking, hopefully soon.

Hyvä! Omg I get homesick when you speak of the sunrise at 2 a.m.! And looking at the pics doesn´t help much in that regard... Well, I take comfort in the fact that I´m going to Kiruna in a month - the northernmost I´ve ever been - and will experience these things myself..

Bet your friend doesn´t like his tent much anymore when feeling those rocks and seeing that hammock next to him, huh...

Well, my friend is experienced hiker, been in norway, sweden etc. So he doesn't care these things so much He tested the hammock and said it is nice This time, he used the shelter, because nearest place for tent was more than 100m away. He got good night sleep, except woke up to some small sounds, because mouse was eating his breakfast
