    Indoor sleepers

For a variety of reasons I am looking to move to a hammock for my normal bed. I have a handle on camping hammocks but what are the criteria people look for in an indoor sleeper. Weight is obviously not an issue, not would the fabric be restricted to lightweight nylon.

Throw me a bone and give me some thoughts on what to consider. This will most likely be a DIY project, although if the price is within budget I would not be adverse to purchasing one. This can also be a top loader as I can rig up assistance devices to get out if I have to.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

That's a good resource for what it is.. but it didn't really address my questions. Is a wider hammock more important indoors? How wide? For example the Safari is 65" wide. A doublenest is about 80" wide. If I am making one.. do I go for 80" (I know how to add strips) or do I just go with the usual width I'd use for a camping hammock> Should I look at some other fabric that nylon? Would cotton have a better feel and since it is indoors and rain is not an issue (Hopefully) I don't need to worry about the outdoor rot. Has anybody tried fleece? Does it help stay warm at indoor temps?

I did like the way he folded that up as far as keeping the strings from getting tangled. I'm going to have to rry to adapt that to my wife's bridge.

I would look for something softer against the skin, like this:

And maybe even make the hammock out of the fuzzy stuff, too.

Maybe use nylon for one layer to make sure you have the strength, then cover it with fleece or something. And add some trim to the edges so it looks nicer than a camping hammock hanging in your room.

I'm sure you're aware of the issues of hanging hammocks inside so maybe we can skip all the posts on how much force it puts on the walls.

Not much different really. Just choose what style hammock you like and make it comfy.....
I sleep in my double layer 1.7 blackbird or my homemade bridge. For the bridge I used two layers as well. The outside was nylon and the inside is a cotton quilt I bought somewhere on sale. It's nice and soft.....
If it gets a bit cold underneath I just shove a blanket in between layers.

I should have said I have a stand on order. It ain't ideal... but for $19 for the hardware kit I couldn't pass it up as I have the wood already.

Jeff, I couldn't help but compile some of the words you wrote....
my brain broke it down to trimming the edges with fuzzy stuff.

Haha - maybe some fuzzy dice from the ridgeline?

I'm pretty sure that DIY kit is cut to 4" exactly, where 4x4s are actually cut to 3.5" square. So you'll need shims or custom-cut wood. Still a good deal at $19.

Jeff you are correct about that, which I already knew. I have the shims from cabinet installations.
