    Line Loc question

Following these instructions how would one be able to pull your tarp close to the ground as in storm mode? Looks like depending on the overall length of your tie-out you could only get within a few feet of the ground. Am I missing something?

Among other things, you're missing the link you thought you put in your post, but don't worry about it. We've all done it, and someone will figure out where those instructions lie. I'm going to go out on a limb and guesthat you mean one of these and not one of these other things. (They are both called "line-locs".) If so, don't follow the instructions. Instead, find Shane's alternative method for tarp tie-outs using that type of line-loc. (Note: I messed up one of those image links myself, but used "preview post" and caught my mistake.)

Thanks, gmcttr. I knew somebody would sort it out before I finished my reply. I type slow. Got the link to Shane's method?

I've found that yes, the loop only closes so far. However, my solution has just been to bring the end of the loop through the tieout point, either over the lineloc (which actually stays in place surprisingly well) or over the stake. This method has been quite helpful in shortening my loops when needed, and can be doubled up when that's still not enough.

Thanks for your help but I'm having a little trouble following you. Could you post some pics by chance?

It's been awhile since I read the thread on Shane's method but what I do is based on it. I larks head the lineloks to each web loop on the tarp, attach a loop in the line to my stake, and I am able to pull the tarp to within a few inches of the stake or tie out point. Basically, tie to the stake and adjust at the tarp.
