    cat cut formula?????????

Hey guys, Im making a cat cut tarp for my bridge hammock. I love cat cuts, the way they look, and the way they are more stable in wind conditions! So my question is.........................is there a rule of thumb or formula for how much of a cat cut you should make for a certain length of material/span? Can you have too deep a cat cut? Thanks for the help!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

I think it's personal preference however I think a good R.O.T. is to have the depth be 4-6% of the length.
    Good luck,
