After doing lots of research too I ended on treating myself to a Thunderbird simply for the fexibility of setup and amazing handcraftship of Randy.

My config ended up with two layer 11feet hammock. Outerlayer 1.0 and inner 1.1 at the time. Went max fabric wide at 65inch

I would fit a 10feeter but wanted some more space and went longer for a flatter lay.

This is my first hammoch and been in love with eversince.

I have the Thunderbird and the adaptability is great. Being able to leave behind the covers in the fall and spring and take the winter cover or bug cover when appropriate is great. I went 11' and single layer and have no complaints on the missing layer, though my recently ordered ridge runner will be dual layer. The Thunderbird is worth the price! I love the night grid camp for color.

Well after days of pondering I finally made up my mind... I ordered the 11' Thunderbird #1049.. Now the search for a good tarp begins....
