Side note on getting stuff from Ed at Hot Springs. I would call him first. Last fall he said he would bring anything ordered to save people shipping. But would only bring stuff people ordered.

Is that too much to ask? Girls with frikkin' lasers on their heads?
The hanger formly known as "hammock engineer".
yep, i've already asked ed to bring the spectra tarp line so he'll probably have a really big spool... enough for every body that wants some.
i'll ask him to bring the 1" webbing also (he probably will anyway).
but i doubt he'll bring any thing else unless someone asks him to.
if you just wanted to see one of his products but weren't really sure about buying it, he would probably be glad to bring that too.
I too will something make and joy in it's making
“Light thinks it travels faster than anything but it is wrong. No matter how fast light travels, it finds the darkness has always got there first, and is waiting for it." -Terry Pratchett
I set up the ENO hammock with ring buckles and some tubular webbing last night. I found two great trees in the park across the street with nice leafy coverage. It was starting to drizzle, but underneath the leaves I was staying pretty dry. I even started to doze off for a minute, but luckily a train came by and blew it's horn about 20 feet away.
But I didn't get dumped out, the rings didn't slip, and the whole system felt pretty secure. With some lighter webbing, a tarp, and a top quilt I think I'll be ready for some summer camping trips.
