Just one more reason I love HF. Awesome job, fin. Try a 6" x6" x 1/4" steel plate as a foot.
Cut your connector sleeves in half or purchase single sided adapters and weld to plate. Drill a hole thru them and stick a bolt into them. And try drilling a couple holes in the plate for staking down. Scaffold supply stores carry footing plates as well, not sure the o.d.-i.d. are the same ,so bring along a chunk of pipe when you shop for these. Beautiful !!!!

I only eat Mc Ds on vacation. So that was what you were babbling about in your car. It really looks great.

Sweet stand. Love it. Takes up a little too much room for me, but then I've got a small yard. If I had more space I'd be all over that design.

    Fin,
That is insanely cool. You could make a science fiction/alien/hammocking movie now! I thought that was a big mac on your avatar! I have had McDonalds a few times since our Northern Hang but my stomach always hurts afterwards. I think I'm switching to Taco Bell.

Oh No, I've been thinking about Golden Arches for awhile, not Big Macs, thanks to Dutch.

Oh, what I wouldn't give for some Mc Ds now and then. And yes, Dutch, this is what I was babbling about.

It is a great idea, but I was going to try to adapt something without welding - cruise the better small hardware stores for ideas. If I could weld, had the tools or new someone who welded locally, I would be all over that. I like the scaffold supply store idea, as well

I think the smallest practical footprint, allowing for suspension systems, would be about 16 feet. That could be done by shortening the middle pole to a 4' section, rather than the 8.5' that it currently is.

Yeah, that hammaka stand is a beauty. I made sure to give them credit for my inspiration. Metal isn't as pretty, but it will look even better once the whole thing is aluminum/no big ugly wood bracket on it. Plus it was a whole lot cheaper than buying the Hammaka stand.

What do you mean, almost? My neighbor's haven't complained, but they may think I put up a jungle gym. Of course, I have no kids, so that just makes the structure even stranger to them.

I could wipe some dog feces on it and rename it to something like "A Man's Journey Through Life" and charge $50 to see it - that might make it go over as art on the Coasts!
