    Checkin' in from New Hampsha!

After a little stalking.....a lot of Shug Videos.....and the realization that my brother was also looking into hanging, here I am! I did lots of backpacking in and just out of college as a groundhog, and have been out of things for quite a few years. I decided that I really wanted to get back into things and stumbled across this site - actually looking for info on tropic weight hammocks for my sailboat! I've been devouring the site, especially the Gear and DIY sections as I look to replenish gear that was either lost, sold, or made much lighter in the years since I was active.

Looking forward to learning, sharing, hanging, and getting back into shape.

    Cheers All!

Greetings from NC. Welcome to the forum. I will be bringing my hammock to NH on vacation next month. Am wondering about how buggy it will be this time of year up there, and what the nighttime temps are like.

    Thanks Starfish,

NH right now is still a bit transitional - kinda depends on where you're going. Southern parts in my area (today excluded) have been pretty warm - mid 70's to 80 days, and low 60's at nite. Last weekend my DD talked me into setting the gear up in the woods behind our house and spending the night - it was brutally hot and the bugs were out, but not bad....

Memorial Weekend, we did a hike and hang in the Whites where it was low to mid 60's in the day and low to mid 50's at night.

By next Month, you'll definitely see our State Bird (black fly) out in full-effect, especially with the recent wet weather we've been having!

    HP,

Thanks for the Invite! I'll have to see if the "General" is okay with that so close to the 4th Weekend, but North Andover is (almost) right in my back yard!
