Yes! I replaced my use of the taut-line hitch with the Farrimond hitch because I no longer have to feed all the remaining line through the knot multiple times. It's so easy to tie/untie, and it even brought me back from using a CRL to separate lines on either end of the tarp.
I use it if I need or want to tie out my tarp to a sapling instead of a stake. Works great.
If you ever have the opportunity to hang with Phatom Grappler, he can show you how to tie this and many other knots.

I think Farrimond hitch is one the coolest things you can do with rope! It's always fascinated me. I don't know why. Even the name sounds cool to me.
