    UQ for kids?

I have 4 sons, ages 5 thru 8, who I have recently introduced to hammock camping. Our first two nights out went pretty well, but I threw some old cheap pads in their hammocks for some bottom insulation, and I feel I may have gotten "lucky" having them be really comfy with these and their REI kindercones sleeping bags. There's no way I can afford UQs for all of them, but was thinking about one or two that we could take turns with.

I took notice of the AHE jarbidge as a good, relatively inexpensive option that could be great for kids. Also, possibly the Eno Vulcan at $140 when it is available again. I don't need anything super light or super warm, just something better than a pad. I'm not really in a DIY stage of life right now, nor do I necessarily have the skills.

Any thoughts on these 2 for this purpose or other suggestions for my kids?

I have a couple of Jarbridges. For my 10 year old, it is full-length, and he will grow into it as a 3/4. Works great, and you can pick up gently used ones in the For Sale forum.

Also, you might consider some do it yourself poncho liner under quilts (PLUQ). Fairly easy to make, either without sewing or with a bit of sewing: https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...oncho-Liner-UQ

Thanks donig! That looks like it could be a really interesting project. I suppose the kids could even "help."

My girls use jarbridges and kinder cones and love them.
Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the strength to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.
