Too bad they don't seem to carry Zing-it and their Lash-it is almost twice as much as Redden's. The shipping from Redden's kills me, so free shipping would be a great deal!

Surely, God never did.
So with the 30 % off sale tomorrow. Any one have some suggestions and some lengths to get and don't forget to post suggest why that length to consider?
The current discussions have been around size for the gram Winnie's 7/64 vs 1/8. But why certain lengths that seem to be practical?
At least from a hammocking perspective?
For me the extra weight isn't a big worry, so thicker and more durable is always a good thing. I don't need to worry about replacing the cordage every 5 usages because it is fraying from use. I want to think of it every couple of seasons maybe...
Currently I always take 50 ft of paracord. But don't use it. And lately it has been just geting shorter because my son keeps asking to have some to make paracord bracelets. So what other sizes and needs might I not be considering?

Amsteel does appear to be discounted. It doesn't show up in the abbreviated list of discounted items listed when you follow the sale link, but when you search for it directly you can see the discount applies.
For example: http://www.westmarine.com/--amsteel-...id--P014895700
Now is that the right stuff to get or am I looking at the wrong product?
Bump..
Amsteel is indeed on sale today! For some reason it was not listed in the preview, but a quick email to Westmarine yesterday seems to have straightened everything out.
Buy Your amsteel here!
Yes, but redden does a free shipping month about 3 times a year, that when i stock up on amsteel and zing it.sign up for thier newsletter so you dont miss the next one.
I was thinking the same but could not find zing it and the lash it is way over priced for some reason?
weylan,
People buy this stuff mostly for diy hammock suspension-related purposes. I don't think many people are buying amsteel to replace general purpose cordage like paracord.
I just picked up some more in anticipation of building a couple hammocks, which I've never done before. But I have bought it in the past to use it for dogbones, soft shackles, and hammock ridgelines (a bit overkill). The most popular thing to make is probably the whoopie sling. Amsteel blue is easy to bury ends, relatively lightweight, and strong with little stretch = good hammock suspension material.

So I picked up 300 ft for future projects. Thanks again for the heads-up with this. I saved about $30....
