Hanging in the house.. Suggestions for tying up??

I don't have a basement, so there's no posts to hook onto.. I have a back bedroom that'd work perfectly if I had hooks in the corners, but what do you suggest so they don't pull out??
I'm not a small feller, either..

So, what I'm after is suggestions on support without destroying my home. The walls are simple 2x4 and drywall construction.

Corners are usually the strongest point for the most part. Just for a bit of extra protection
I take wood and spread the load over more than one stud on the wall. Then bolt through a
set of D rings (mine are rated 1200 lbs) or something similar using a T nut on the back side.
    Hasn't failed me yet.

I am currently in the process of designing some shelf's that will do the same thing. Just to
make them more useful and attractive in the new place.

Original from a couple years ago.

I use pretty much the same set up as Gary_R. I have a 2X4 that is long enough to span 2 studs. The board is lag bolted to the studs and there is an eye bolt in the middle. I have been using this set up for quite a while now with no cracks in the drywall or signs of stress what so ever. I am 5'10" 225lb.

Excellent info guys, and I thank you both very much!!
Since I'm a veteran TIG welder, I have a hunch a nice ring will be made up to hang off of a small sheet of stainless, all polished up, on opposing walls.. I'll tell people it's where I tie up my horse..

A stand might work, depending on how heavy you are and how much floor space you have. I have a Vario stand (www.seasidehammocks.com or www.byerofmaine.com) and it's rated for 350 lbs.

Heavy duty eyelet bolt into studs has worked quite well for me!

Well, as handy as a stand would be, part of this is the possibility of future bed removal. Any space saved is excellent and a stand would take up more spaces than I would like.

My house was built on the cheap, back in 1950 and part of me is concerned about possible structure damage, and the fact that I'm no a light fellow.. Pulling inward is an issue if not strong enough.

I'm thinking I'm going to make two 1/4" x 5" aluminum plates wide enough to be lag screwed into two studs, and weld a hanging loop in the center of them. I'll weld a cross brace along the top for extra support, to eliminate any chance of bowing between the studs. If I make the cross brace wide enough (maybe 4" by full width) I can then use them as a shelf, too.

@Gary_R...what happened with the horizontal holes next to the D ring? Also, what do you use to attach the hammock ends to the D rings?

The extra holes are me trying to have the D ring facing the other way.. decided I didn't like it so I changed it.

I use a Carabiner to attach to the D ring
