Good evening everyone,
I am looking to make a winter tarp. My main hold up is the cat cut corners. Can any one point me in the direction of a good guide?

Did you see the directions on diygearsupply.com? That's the plan I followed.
Short version on cat cuts for the lengths and tolerances we're dealing with is basically eyeball it, don't stress about it. 3" rise is enough to keep any side on a winter dream style tarp tight. I've used spreadsheets to calculate the exact line and the fact is it's overkill.
The middle of the side, use chalk to mark 3" from the straight side, Mark some guide points that look about right to guide you and cut.
Chicky did a nice pictoral here. Explains the corner layout well.
