    Fixed Point/Dynamic Point suspension

Does anyone have a suggestion for affixing a hammock to one fixed point and one dynamic (not fixed) point. I am planning on taking my hammock with me into the field with my unit and I am a little stumped as to how to hang it without some serious stakes. I am in a mechanized unit so one point of my hammock can be tied off to my vehicle (it weighs around 30,000 pounds) but the other point may have to be supported by a movable frame. I am trying to keep this as small as possible so that transport will not be an issue. Space is at a premium so carrying a bunch of extra stuff would not be fair to the rest of the soldiers that I work with. Any ideas are helpful, good ideas, doubly so.

On the non-fixed end, you can do a mono/bi/tripod. Try this thread to get you started. The principle is about the same, whether you use one, two, or three legs; the more legs, the less tie-outs.

Try this one, too, for a simpler setup (one bi-pod, guy lines, stakes).

Good luck. Stay safe. Thanks for your service.

Sort of depends if your vehicle includes a large hammer as part of it's kit. If you have one a largish stake and a bipod would solve your problem
    YMMV
