Howdy folks. I'm looking for a GoLite poncho tarp. Tried to buy one from their website and they are out of stock. I need it fairly soon so I am unsure if they will get them back in time.
Thanks!

I just made my own version which I have tested as a hammock, tarp and a poncho. It comes out to roughly 8foot by 55inches.
I was going to post some pics but have not had the time since finishing.
It could also be used for- gathering water, hammock underquilt protector, signaling device (I bought bright orange from ripstopbytheroll) the string could be used for towing a motorcycle or snowmobile.
I post a pic tonight.
It would be easy to make.
How much are you willing to spend?
Around the $60 the actual GoLite version costs. Your creation sounds pretty cool, but I have literally 0 ability to make anything of my own. No tools, knowledge, or experience. The last time I sewed anything was in home economics in 7th grade.
I would sell mine for 65$ with shipping simply to cover my cost. i probably have 25-30 in the materials plus sewing. If you cant find one and want this one let me know. It is basically brand new.
I would need a day to copy the pattern before shipping.
Hey WaffleBox, this may not be the perfect solution, but if they are out of stock and time is a factor, check out the Equinox poncho tarp. Still 7 oz, but 10 bucks more. I have the golite, love it and won't part with it, but I hear good things about the Equinox.

OK. I took some pics. I have tested this in the rain for 30mins and it was pouring and worked really good. I have however not silicone the seam around the neck yet.
Here you go. I have also hung in it as a hammock and it worked fine. The hood is 10inches to the front to allow coverage when wearing a backpack. The 1000lb rated strings stow in the hems. the weight with strings is roughly 8 ozs.
Looks well made! I will likely pass if only because it is pretty darn bright, but I am impressed nonetheless!
Berk, the Equinox looks nice but it is actually $20 and about 3oz more for the one that is designed to be worn over a pack. I may go for it in a pinch but would rather hold out while I can in hopes of a GoLite. I appreciate the suggestion though!
Sunday night bump!
