Talking First house, new hang! (Pics)

I just bought my first house! It came with a sweet deck, with a tree nearby. No other decent trees on the property to hang from, but my GC friend suggested we put an eyebolt through the concrete of the house (including proper concrete anchor of course). Result: I ***love*** it! I intend to spend massive amounts of time out here.

Also I was looking around for a way to easily anchor the side pull-outs, and I just happened upon the notion of running each lead through a little slit between the boards of the deck/bench/railing and anchoring with a small stick. Sure, it could slide along the slot a bit but in practice it seems to stay in one place.

congrats on the house. It's really nice to stake a claim. Looks like a lot of green in the yard. should be a nice view from the hammock.

    Congrats on the home.

Keep an eye out for cracking in the brick's mortar or signs of pulling away at the window. The only thing that anchors brick veneer is a few metal ties nailed to the wood framing. The brick is not a structural element...just siding.

I made these "deck anchors" a few years back out of coat hangers. You just slip them between the boards and turn sideways. The washers make sure they don't get dropped through.

Now you should make a few turtle dog stands so that your friends can hang when they come over when you are grilling. Nice work.
If you prepare for failure you will probably succeed.
