I have booked Loser again for Saturday night. He's a little unreliable so we will see. Also the Dutchess may come so I will have to be on my best behavoir again.

Lucky group, Loser rocks! Puts out a mean "Michael Row Your Boat Ashore"
Dang, that will put a crimp in your style. Also the Dutchess may come so I will have to be on my best behavoir again.
just poking you out of jealousy 'cause I can't come to this one....but it looks promising for a hang in NH on Halloween so I shouldn't complain too much.
Grizz
What do you mean "again"? When were you ever on good, much less best, behavior? Why, at the spring hang you forced me to inspect your Blackbird. Even enticed me to "try it out". Now I have one on order - I already have 6, why do I need another one? (I know - I don't need another one, just the BB! )

The MAHHA hang is shaping up to be one heck of a show ! Pre-hikes and post-hikes. A Saturday morning pancake breakfast. Our regular Saturday night potluck dinner and the JRB-sponsored raffle. And now we have both a workshop series and a music concert (maybe) lined up! Along with the usually DIY show & tell at people's hammock hanging spots.
Here's lineup so far . . .
Days before Weekend Hang - Pre-hikes ! Find a group, take a hammock, take a hike!
Friday afternoon/evening: People showing up. Meet & greet old friends and new. Follow glowy orangy ribbon on trail to hang site. Pick a spot and hang, my friends.
Friday - Dark-thirty: Campfires at the hang site.
Saturday at Pavillion
Sat. Morning - Dutch's Pancake Breakfast
Followed by - 2Q's Caldera Cone Workshop. Need a cone, make your own!!
Thru-out the day at hang site: "Show Me What Ya Got?" Newbies, don't be shy in asking people to show you our hammock setup. We all live for that! I suggest taking pictures! Helps you remember when you get home! The Jacks give great advice for hammock camping and will show you their most excellent JRB quilts and other STUFF.
Sat. at Pavillion continued
3 pm - Pedro's Knife and Tool Sharpening Workshop. Find out who's the sharpest tool in the shed.
4 pm - Dutch's Makin' Whoopie Sling Workshop (sorry, couldn't resist)
5 pm - Charcoal is started for Pot Luck Dinner. People start gathering for dinner. Bring a food dish for the Potluck. Bring $$$ for raffle. (Make that single bills, please, we ain't the bank, ya know. ) There's always great stuff to be won!
After dinner back at hang site - Loser Concert (maybe) & Campfire
Sunday - Post hikes and Goodbyes
Check back to this thread. Updates and additions guaranteed!

Okay, so I thought that I would make myself useful and present a brief workshop on sharpening knives and tools. The focus will be on knives, but we can branch out into chisels, shears, whatever if there is interest. If anyone wishes to attend, please bring your own knife, and whatever sharpening equipment you have. There is a wide variety of knife sharpeners out there, and it would be great to be able to compare the relative merits of each.
I will be bringing some of my ultralight diamond hones for sale or trade, but this is not going to be a sales pitch. SYOK (sharpen your own knife)
Feedback and suggestions are encouraged.
Ounces to Grams.

For Dutch's "Makin' Whoopie" sling workshop. It will be helpful if you have a yarn needle and a regular sewing needle with some thread. The yarn needle can be bought at walmart in a variety pack. A knife and marker will be helpful too. I'm going to be asking Knotty to cohost this since he has more makin' whoopie experience then I. I will have the amsteel from the groupbuy toplay with.
