tarp question---with no ridge line seam

Hey guys, just a quick question for you: I am making a new tarp and due to the design and most effecient way to use material, I want to have the seam side ways (instead of at the long/top of the tarp like most people do) So, my questionis-----------without the seam as a ridgeline, will it be strong enough? If so, how do you install the ridgeline loops f or hanging your tarp? (reinforcment doublers/patches? I noticed the ogee tarp does something similar in certain configurations---any problems with that design? thanks!
FYI: If you want to know what type a certain bear is, sneak up behind it and kick it. Then,
run like crazy and climb up a tree. If the bear climbs the tree and eats you, it's a black
bear. If the bear just pushes the tree over and eats you, it's a grizzly bear : )

Do not walk behind me, for I may not lead. Do not walk ahead of me, for I may not follow. Do not walk beside me, either, just leave me alone.

IMO moving the seams crosswise will not affect the strength of the tarp. You should be fine. Attach hanging points the same way you would attach pull-outs or stake points in the middle of a side. I have no experience or knowledge specific to an ogee design.
I may be slow... But I sure am gimpy.

I have an ogee and a claytor diamond tarp and have run ridgelines without a seam on both. I have had no problems. Go for it.

i would suggest foldind the end and sewing grossgrain folded thru at the end, just for about a foot or so where the dee ring will go
Look at the video in my sig at about 36 - 38 seconds in and you will see how my diy was done, it's easier to look at it then me to explain it,, hope it helps. by the way, i can crank this tarp in really tight with no problems.
