Question Can I put tension on the WBRR suspension lines?

    IMG_0759.jpg

Is this going to be a problem, to hang a gear hammock off of the suspension of my bridge hammock? I have this gear hammock hanging on soft shackles with prusiks from the suspension. I thought it would be better to hang from the line as close to the spreader bars but was curious how much I could hang here safely. So far this has been backyard hanging and so the bag has not really been used, just holding some stuff sacks and stakes and what not. Before putting any real weight I wanted to get feedback from you guys on what kind of weight I can safely put on the suspension here.

    Thanks.

Doesn't look like an issue to me. Should be fine.

It looks like any extra forces caused by the gear bag would be exerted in the same general direction as a 'normal' load would exert. Not much different than if you got in with really heavy shoes on, and probably much less tension than is already applied at the head end by the extra weight of the upper body. As long as no sideways force is applied to the spreader bar you should be fine.
    Nice gear bag...

Thanks for the confirmation. That is a well crafted Jacks R Better Jeff's Gear Hammock. It has come in handy with my gather end hammocks but just fits the RR perfectly.

Divigation, do you have the regular (34"x36") or the large (42"x55") one of those Gear Hammocks?

In terms of fitting the RR, does it matter -- or would, say, a regular one fit at the foot end and a large one fit at the head end?

Doesn't hurt a thingy...I have hung large water gravity 3L bag on one side and back pack on other side and your talking 20-30 lbs of crap on them and haven't hurt a thing by my hanging stuff on dogbones as I call them. Even wet clothes to dry out, jacket and shoes throwed over them included with other stuff.

I have the regular, which fits the end well. The regular does not fit the head end perfectly, the large would probably be a better fit. When I put it on the head end it had to be away from the hammock to not pull the suspension together some.
