Just placed my order. My one concern is that if I keep dropping weight off my pack will I have to tie it down to keep it from floating away?

Exactly the reason I am interested. I always just wrapped the hugger around as many times as I could but it always bothers me when one strap is longer. Not that it matters, it just bugs me.

Just ordered a pair of these guys. I love the simplicity of this and the ability to drop my cinches. Great stuff as always.

Mine are the 1st generation clips. Now they are antiques!!!
So are mine. At a group hang, Dutch saw I was using them and told me he would trade them for the new style at no charge. Told him I like the original and have never had any problems with them so I am still using them.
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !

    heh,
in 10 years we will have packs light enough to float along the trail with helium balloons we tether to our belts.

Looks nice, Dutch! Do these have comp weight restrictions to your dutch clips?

I am still working on that. I need stronger webbing, as of now it is stronger than the 1500# webbing I provide.

That hammock has a continuous loop on it so I attached the loop of the webbing via a larks head but I could have just larks headed it to the hammock. So with that suspension you only need strap and g-clip. On the second example I use a shorter strap and larks head the whoopee sling to the loop of the webbing. Then I had a whoopee hook that attached to the continuous loop. However you could put the whoopee sling one the traditional way and have the adjustable end go through the loop of the webbing making it an all in one. The second one would use much less webbing and be lighter. I like it because one tree is always the wrong size for my hugger.
I saw the g-clip mentioned in another thread and didn't understand the hammock end attachment. Thanks for explaining it.
