Nice one Dutch.. looks very familiar! hehe...
Good to see it in production.
Cheers buddy and all the best to you.

===> I am lucky enough to have the new G-clips, and have used them already! Brilliant! Just brilliant! VERY easy to adjust, solid hold, and makes tree size pretty much irrelevant. Will be ordering a few more pairs shortly for my other hammocks! Thanks again, Dutch!!

I like, just do not see why anyone would need a whoopee in there. It's pretty close to the equivalent webbing weight and a whole lot fussier.
YMMV

Free advice worth what you paid for it. ;-)
Polyester Webbing: 0.24 oz/ft
Dynaglide: 0.026 oz/ft
Amsteel 7/64: 0.048 oz/ft
So webbing is ~10 times heavier per foot than dynaglide, and ~5 times heavier per foot than amsteel.
12.5ft of cord goes into a 6ft whoopie. So a dynaglide whoopie weights 0.325 oz. Amsteel weighs 0.6 oz. 6ft of Webbing weights 1.44oz.
So that's ~ 2 oz saved for a suspension. You may say, "So what, it's only 2 oz", but it doesn't take long for those little 1-2oz's to add up to a lb, or more.
Not to mention the difference in bulk.
It's also going to be a lot easier to adjust than webbing in a buckle, especially the G-Clip due to how it wraps around the tree.
I've personally never felt whoopies to be "fussy" though.
Boston, that is an excellent explanation of why I use the combination of strap & whoopee.

I sewed the G clips right to my 4ft tree straps and use whoopies and whoopie hooks. Only used that system once so far but it was the fastest, easiest setup for me yet. And I agree those 2 oz. items add up, especially if you use a frameless pack like I do.
Does the G-clip stay securely attached to the webbing when not in actual use (packed away)?
Any chance of losing it?
You folks that have used these for awhile now - do you find them as easy to adjust as the 'web and buckle' at the hammock end?

As for the security, as long as you have the webbing looped back through, it stays put fine when packed away. If you have the webbing through just the center and sling it around willy nilly then you might lose one.
I did not like the way the cinch buckles were difficult to lengthen, requiring one to position them a certain way to get them to release. I also wanted one device instead of two (buckles and beaner) at each end. This is why I came up with the G-Clip and find them easier to use and quicker to set up and tear down.
