Hello snakeman and welcome from Gadsden, Al. If you liked the ENO, all you need is a simple gathered end hammock. (that's what the ENO is) You can even make one yourself. And maybe a bug net this time of year. A cheap poly tarp to get started. Lots of DIY info available in the DIY section. Also, try to get to a local hang to see a variety of gear and set-ups before you spend a lot of money on stuff you don't really like.

Welcome from SC! If you can wait, check out the trip planning section for upcoming trips in the SE, there are a few right around the corner, one 7/11. Dropping in on one of those will not only introduce you to some great folk, but those same great folk will be hanging out in some great kit and more than willing to share the wealth of knowledge as well as sample some of the product you can only see pictures of here.

    Good luck!

Salutations from Irmo, Snakeman. Seconding what Dirtwheels said, a group hang is the best way in my opinion to learn the ins and outs of using a hammock to camp. You get to see other setups, other gear, and meet great people.

Palmetto State Hangers is hosting our annual Swamp Butt Hang at Dreher Island State Park the weekend of July 11th, feel free to come by and meet up with other folks here in the state that share the same interest in hammock camping that you have and have a good time with us!
I used to be a somebody, now I just camp.

First of all, welcome from Nashville, Tennessee. Second, asking opinions on hammocks is like asking what's a good college football team ... or hiking footwear. Lots of personal preferences. LOL

If you're on an economy budget, an ENO is fine, though lacking a bug net. Many folks make their own DIY-style. If you have money to spend, there are plenty of very good "cottage industry" hammock makers, most of whom have threads on here and produce high-quality, cutting edge hammocks.

    Enjoy the show!
