Have fun hanging in Colorado, on or off the river… jk

Welcome to hammock forums, have fun in CO. Hopefully you will have time to test out your gear before you go camping, especially tarp and UQ. Just on porch, backyard, local park is fine. But I recommend the area near Sparrowhawk campground on the Illinois river in NE OK. Take a tube or something that floats. Best hangs I ever had were on a boat but Illinois and Colorado rivers are a bit small for those hammock hanging camping on boats.

Thanks, I might check that out. I have been floating on the Illinois before. I am only about an hour and a half from there maybe less.

I am a little nervous about going to CO and I am wondering if park campgrounds would be hammock friendly? I am not wanting to go backcountry on the first trip/hang like that. Are there any rules or regulations concerning hammocks? I will def test out my gear beforehand. I am on a shoestring budget BTW

I'm out in Colorado and all the parks I've been to have been totally fine with hammocks. I see them pretty frequently. Shouldn't have to go backcountry to camp.
