I am getting geared up to start hammock camping because during scout outings quite a few of the guys do it and swear by it.

My son also wants to do it so I am getting 2 rigs all geared up.

Will probably have a few questions once I search the forum but crossing fingers that we like it.

Welcome to HF from Athens. Lots of great info here on the site. Good luck with your hanging adventures.
Everyone ought to believe in something....I believe I'll go set up the hammock!

I was very encouraged to go on a cub scout overniter recently on a boy scout reservation, and saw at least half the boy scouts using hammocks. Every single one of them was an ENO. Nothing wrong with the ENO setup, but do ask around here about your options. Most scouts, or their parents, are going to go to a store to buy something first, and therefore get an ENO because that's about the only thing sold in stores. Again, nothing wrong with it, but there are plenty of very, very good options that you can find out about here. One of the best places to start looking is OutdoorTrailGear.com which is a catch-all site for various different cottage companies. Happy Hanging!

We already have 2 ENO from before just lounge hammocks. My wife has a DN I have a SN my son has GT Double.

I am working on getting tarps and all the other stuff for truly camping. I converted my hammock to whoopee slings a few weeks ago.

Also They sell the ENO and GT hammocks at the scout stores both council shops and at the camps so that is another reason you see a lot of Scouts using them. I know last year about 6 of the guys bought theirs at summer camp.
