Give me more darkness said the blind man,
Give me more folly said the fool,
Give me stone silence said the deaf man,
I didn't believe Sunday School.

I agree with OLDGRINGO and SilvrSurfr
I ain't gonna hang hammocktarpallinone but if I did
Use 1/8 amsteel
Get 30 degree hang
The tarp line can droop or be curved downward the tarp touching ridgeline only on each end--held tight with prusik loops--the tarp would be horizontal--and be clipped to prusik loops with small carabiners so you can pack seperate when wet. Or you might eliminate the ridge line and attach tarp to tree straps
But most hangers don't use the all in one because of the problems that the experienced hangers cited
A hanger called MedicineMan has made some integrated hammock plus tarp set ups. And Tendertoe has been working on single line suspensions. Good luck
I've gone to 7/64" amsteel Single Line Suspension now with an integrated tarp. Similar to coolclou's diagram at post # 6. Tensioners are required to keep the tarp snug. As many others have mentioned a integrated tarp and hammock would entail packing a wet tarp in with my nice dry hammock. There have been only a couple of mornings here in Florida when I have gotten out of the hammock to a dry tarp. That and then there are those 5:00 AM 30 minute soakers that can roll in on you here in Florida from a star filled sky at hammock time. Happened to us last year.

There are some precautions to this system. The most important being that there are more forces exerted, or so I've been told by an engineer. Wish I had a scale to do some testing with. I just make sure that I'm always hanging from larger, 8" or better, Oak, Pine, or Cypress.

After reading Olddog post and viewing pictures I might have to buy more amsteel and try your ideas with some of my own.
That's the way we grow and find other options. Headchange4u and Bearchaser were my inspirations. Doesn't work for everyone but I like playing with my stuff and finding what works for me. This entire setup for was that situation where you walk into the camp and it's raining. Start the SLS out of it's mesh bag, attach a hugger to one tree walk it out and attach the other end. Stake the attached tarp and you're out of the weather in less than 3 mins. Sit down under the tarp out of the rain and brew up a cup of coffee or tea and watch the rain. Not surprisingly, with Florida's lack of rain during our hiking season, I've never had to utilize the speed factor.
If you come up with a new twist please feel free to share it with us.

If my project fails it will be SilvrSurfr's fault because as you can see OLDGRINGO was just drinking his coffee...
As others have written, Hennessyusesthe hammock suspension cords to suspend the tarp. The technique is shown in this video from the hennessy site:

I believe that the "Adventure Racer" model hammock had the tarp permanently attached for quick easy set up. All Hennessy hammocks are supplied with the prussics and mitten hooks to allow the technique to be used. Works to a certain extent, but when you put your weight on the hammock, the lines are pulled down and the horizontal distance betwen the tarp attachment points is reduced, leading to sag. Some ingenious adjustable rifgelines have been devised to reduce the loss of tension:
This one has a tautline hitch providing the adjustment in tarp ridgeline length once you are in the hammock

My biggest concern with the design is the ability to adjust the tarp for those wonderful sunsets or nights that you want your tarp set up higher, maybe standing straight up height and in porch mode. Or readjusting the tarp low to the ground and tight to the hammock for those bad storms.
It just won't happen. I don't have a goto height for my tarp. It depends on the weather and view.
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
