    Question Round Sewn Footbox

While I wait for my Momentum 90 fabric to arrive, I am in the nitty gritty part of design and final measurements. Today I watched Shug's latest Border Route Trail Ramble BWCA video, and he mentioned how much he enjoyed his round bottomed sewn foot-box on his TQ. Here's the link to the reference.

I'm pretty set on sewing the foot-box, but now I'm wondering if I should mess with adding a round piece for the very bottom. I would make sure to do some sort of baffling to keep my feet nice and warm.

So do you think I should go through the trouble of making the round bottom, or should I just sew it up like normal?

I like a roomy footbox. Can't stand the stanard mummy configuration.

If you are going with a no taper or half taper design, why constrain yourself?

If you are a figure 4 sleeper, all the more reason to give yourself dome room.

    Just my 2 cents.

I like the idea of having more room for sure.

Could anyone recommend a good set of instructions on how to sew on the round piece without it looking like an after thought?

Hey! Thanks, Shug! I think I'm going to give the round foot-box a green light. I just need to watch a few more ladies on YouTube teaching the world how to sew circles onto things.

side note from YouTube. I was the one asking about your Saloman's
My boots came in today, and they are amazing!

Once the material and thread arrives, I'll link this thread to a new TQ build thread, so others that want round bottoms on their TQ can follow along.

I am just reaching the point of putting on a end cap for my TQ. I did a lot of planning with pen and paper, then I started sewing. I just love the Argon fabric, well I became so carried away with the construction I sort of went way off the plan. Now I have too many baffles, the quilt length is perfect for me, even though it is shorter than planned. I was debating on how to do the foot box, how much down and how to stabilize the down.

For me sewn in is the only way for me to go. I hate trying to work with snaps, they tend to become difficult when I least expect trouble, I have ruined too many garments trying to install snaps.

I will be looking to see how your plan works out.
