Look for 2-3 day hike around Southeast Idaho?

Hey, I am not sure this is the best place to post this, but I don't know where else to go. I am looking for a 2-3 moderate difficulty hike about an hour away from Rexburg, Idaho. I am having trouble finding information, but I KNOW there has to be some awesome places to hang. Bonus points for incredible scenery.

    Thanks guys!

I'm sure that there are lots of other options but check out Darby Canyon Wind Cave (link) It's been years but the hike is pretty and will take you up near the mouth of the cave with a water fall coming out. There are some good stands of trees on the hills around the cave and I am sure you could hang there. It's on the ID/Wy border with the Tetons just up the hill. Head to Victor and then east.

Wow the pictures are beautiful. And it looks like a good place to set up a base camp and explore the surrounding area!

The whole area is great. There are trails all over the west side of the Tetons. When I went about 14-15 years ago we were all getting into caving and spent 4 hours deep inside that mountain. It was one of the most unique caves I have been in but not for the inexperienced. It would be easy to get lost and or killed inside that cave. But the view from the outside is just as cool.

The Palisades are great. I think It's only 4 miles in to the lower lake and then another couple to the upper, but the views are awesome and with swimming and fishing you can easily make an overnighter of it. It's about an hour away, by swan valley. The trail is clear and doesn't really present a challenge, though, if that's what you are looking for. http://alltrails.com/trail/us/idaho/palisades-creek

I second the palisades lakes. Alaska basin is also amazing up Teton canyon. If you want to go into the park bit Dunanda falls and Union falls are spectacular. There is bear creek and big elk creek. Oh man, I could go on and on. how many miles do you want to hike? Big elk is a super easy hike that is fairly flat along the creek as far as you want to hike!!!

Does anyone know if I need permits to camp overnight in these areas? I haven't backpacked in This area before.

You only need permits inside Yellowstone park. The rest is open camping. (The best kind)
